Pause–Regulate–Plan–Practice

Skill and calm, taught together.

Many learners who come to us aren’t short on ability. They’re short on focus, confidence, or calm under pressure. Pause–Regulate–Plan–Practice is our holistic tutoring technique: calming strategies and small, clear steps, built directly into real academic work. See how it works →

It’s why our students talk about feeling less overwhelmed as often as they talk about higher grades.

FAQ

What happens in the free consult?

A 20-minute phone or video call with Dr. Gail. You describe what's going on; she asks a few questions and tells you honestly whether Tutor Tables is the right fit and what she'd recommend first.

Do you work online or in person?

Both. In person in Lodi, NJ and Manhattan, and online anywhere. Many families mix the two.

How do you show progress?

Every learner starts with an intake and a written plan with one academic goal and one confidence goal. You get a written progress note at least every 4 weeks, in plain language.

What is Pause–Regulate–Plan–Practice?

Dr. Gail's holistic tutoring technique. Learners pause, use a calming strategy, break the task into small steps, then practice one step at a time. It's especially helpful for anxious test-takers and learners who have started to avoid the subject.

Do you diagnose learning disabilities?

No. We provide instruction and progress documentation, and we work alongside evaluators, advocates, and your child's school team. If we think an evaluation would help, we'll say so.

What does it cost?

Rates depend on the program and format, and we share them clearly before you commit to anything. We sell in simple 8–12 week blocks billed monthly, and each term we offer a small number of sliding-scale Community Seats.
